Firstly I want to start off by saying thank you to everyone who stopped by my side of the woods! Its been so inspiring me! I have been away for a hot minute due to me working as a costumer on a action movie (I can’t say which 😉 But now that I am relaxing and enjoying the ease of some down time I can finally post again!
No joke, I was jotting down ideas in between takes.
Does anyone else want to grab their cozy cardigan as soon as it changes to be 10 degrees cooler? Just Californians with our average 79 degree weather? Cool. lol
But for real though, it’s that wonderful time of year were the subtle change in weather and sunlight makes me think of dreamy leaves falling, my favorite holiday (halloween), and baking anything that is trending on Pinterest – but most of all, washing all my cozy Autumn layers in my closet and bringing then to the front.
Does anyone else let Bath & BodyWorks tell you when its what season?? Just me? cool. lol
Do not get me wrong. I am such a lover of all things summer. This summer has been amazing! However, I am feeling ready for some dreamy autumn sunsets again.
AUTUMN FASHION FORECAST
THE BLACK PURSE
I am pretty sure that the black purse is here to stay for a very long time. It just matches too many styles, let’s get real – black is forever.
The beautiful black purse has been around for as long as the little black dress that Audrey Hepburn made iconic in Breakfast at Tiffany’s.
Chanel, while I am not very sold on their last 5 seasons of fashion, and also speaking more frankly, not very pleased with Karl Lagerfeld when he was alive – their accessories are still part of my dream closet.
Brief History Time:
The iconic quilted Chanel bag (Chanel 2.55 – its the date of when it was created – February 2nd, 1955) is one of the most famous bags ever designed. After doing some very in depth research I came to find that Chanel was actually the first to design a purse with a strap! – all the way up to that point women were carrying their purses in their hands like a clutch! WE LOVE YOU COCO CHANEL!
I feel like I could write a whole blog post just about this incredible woman. I think I will. ❤
Someday I will definitely own a Chanel bag in every color possible. They actually are considered great investment staples cause they have not gone down in value in decades, They will always be wanted and loved!
“In order to be irreplaceable one must always be different.”
– Coco Chanel
If you’re like me and don’t have between $5k-$7k lying around to purchase this bag I found some other purses that are gorgeous and will hold you until you can buy yourself your dream bag. All of them are under $50.
Zara continues to take the lead in bringing high fashion to the general public. I continue to come back to them time and time again as they release such interesting pieces that are both trendy and inexpensive. The bags below are amazing
If you are looking for more colors they also have this insanely adorable purse that comes in a variety of colors….I may be getting a couple O_O
***Tip: just like good food in your fridge and pantry, when you replace your closet with good/fun clothes you will transform your style and surprise yourself with a total transformation. Just have fun!
BLAZERS
Another staple that I HIGHLY recommend for autumn is making sure you have at least 2 blazers in your closet! They will be your STAPLE when you are dressing – either for work or going to a party later that night. The versatility of a blazer these days are kinda limitless. Make sure you have at least one black blazer and one light color blazer.
If you are feeling extra adventurous grab a super fun color.
Blazers have been a staple for as long as I can remember. However it wasn’t until the last 4ish years that they have become an actual fashion commodity as oppose to being just worn for work. They are now sexy power statements that can be dressed down or up. I am loving this fashion moment! I think they are a wonderful fashion staple that everyone should have in their closet. if not multiple versions and colors.
Below are some really inexpensive ones that are currently on sale!
Again, I am a huge advocate for being frugal – you can look a million without spending a million. ❤
There are a ton of amazing options out there – the ones I listed are inexpensive and have great color options. Everything is on sale currently too to save you a little extra. ❤
A GOOD PAIR OF PANTS
Finding a good fitting pant is key for a polished look – it 100% the fit and if they fall right below your ankle. You can transform an inexpensive pair of pants and make them look very expensive by simply tailoring them to yourself.
I would definitely encourage you to find a really good tailor near you and make them your BFF. My favorite ones make me feel like I’m their niece or granddaughter.
What I am really enjoying about this trend is that these pants make me think of the 1940s wide leg trouser that were made popular by the likes of Ginger Rogers and Katherien Hepburn.
Below are some ideas for trousers this autumn.
These are just some inspiration for shopping this season – I hope this is helpful to you as we continue to maneuver all these crazy trends. Some styles will be here for a long time. I want to encourage you dear reader, to step outside your comfort zone and try a look that you wouldn’t usually wear. Just enjoy something new!
Wishing you a beautiful day and week! Go out there and show off you!
